I think that Ma and Pa are holding in their emitions which is unhealthy. According to the text, Jerome said “I worry Ma and Pa will get used to trying not to feel. I think what Jerome said makes it sound like Ma and Pa. Also Grandma and Kim aren’t afriad to share their emitions with eachother but Ma and Pa try not to talk about it and try to forget about it.

I think that Sarah is covering up for her dad. According to the text, she think that her dad shooting Jerome was a mistake. Also, she says that he was just doing his job. The thing that I hate so much about this is she knows that he did it on purpose and just because he is her dad makes everything better. I bet you that she thinks what he did was okay which IT IS NOT and that he mistakenly thought that he was a man and that the toy gun was real. What she is doing makes me angry and that she is just covering up for her dad.

I think that Ma has developed depression. According to the text, Ma was in his bedroom crying while her mom Jerome’s grandma was holding her hand. Also, Ma now sleeps in Jerome’s bedroom. Since Jerome death Ma’s actions make me feel that she is and has developed depression.

I think that Viji was very brave and courageous for going to speak with Appa. According to the text, she said “I’ll see him” and I’m not scared” to Celina Aunty. The way she said that made me feel that she was very brave and that she had a lot a courage. Also, she wasn’t scared to tell Appa to not lay a finger on Amma. Saying that to someone that was and maybe still is abusive shows a lot of bravery and courageousness.

Why did Muthu get sold to one of those “schools?” At the “schools” they would get “taught” how to make handbags. The “owner” would beat them until they bled. When the police raided the place, he got sent to an orphanage. She beat them bad enough that Muthu ran away. Did he hurt do something to his parents or something? Or did his parents need money so they had to sell him to one of the “schools” I wonder if we will ever find out? He didn’t deserve what happen to him.

I think Rukku is smart and selfless. According to the text, she said to Viji and Muthu that they should sell necklaces. The ones that she made. The idea that she came up with is very smart and that made her sound smart. Also, all she wanted from the money they made was a balloon so that also makes her sounded selfless.

Viji is brave but scared. According to the text, in the middle of the night she took Rukku and herself and snuck out of the house because Appa is abusive and hurts Amma. What she did for Rukku and herself made her sounded brave but it also sounds like she is scared. Also, when she had to work in the trash she didn’t want to but she had to.

Julien’s mom is very nice. For example, every day she would come to the barn and bring food for Sara and either play cards or chat with Sara. I can’t really explain that well because I have never been in either of their shoes. All that I can explain is that everything she has done for Sara makes her sound very nice. Also, every time she goes home after hanging out with Sara, she has to walk one hundred meters to her house but she doesn’t mind because of her love for Sara. In conclusion, Julien’s mom also known as Vivienne is very nice.
